Project Description

Youth Adaptation Day: Empowering Young People for Climate and Clean Energy Action is a youth-led initiative in Ghana that creates opportunities for young people to learn, collaborate, and take action on climate adaptation and sustainable energy solutions. Currently in the early development stage and operating for less than 12 months, the initiative provides a platform for youth engagement through workshops, discussions, mentorship, and practical learning activities.

The project raises awareness of climate adaptation strategies, renewable energy technologies, and clean cooking solutions while strengthening leadership, problem-solving, and community action skills among participants. Through interactive sessions and peer learning, young people are encouraged to develop locally relevant solutions and become active contributors to climate resilience and sustainable development within their communities.

Impact: Strengthens youth leadership, climate adaptation awareness, renewable energy knowledge, and community engagement, contributing to SDGs 4, 7, 13, and 17.

Revenue Model: Crowdfunding, donations, grants, prizes, and future partnership support.

Expenses: Venue costs, workshop materials, participant support, refreshments, event documentation, outreach activities, and programme coordination.

Challenges: Limited funding, logistical coordination, participant outreach, and maintaining long-term engagement and mentorship opportunities beyond events.

Vision: To build a national youth-led platform that combines climate adaptation education with hands-on renewable energy training, mentorship, and community-based projects. The initiative aims to provide young people with practical experience in areas such as solar energy, clean cooking technologies, and local energy solutions while expanding opportunities for youth leadership across Ghana.

Development Stage: Early Development.
