YOUNGO Just Transition Capacity Building is a youth-led global initiative that equips young leaders with the technical knowledge and policy advocacy skills needed to drive a just and inclusive energy transition. Operating for 1-3 years, the project combines practical energy expertise with climate governance training, helping youth engage effectively in local, national, and international energy discussions.

Drawing on real-world energy transition experiences, including lessons from Scotland’s shift away from fossil fuels, the initiative delivers virtual workshops, training programs, and facilitation toolkits that strengthen energy literacy and leadership capacity. The project aims to train youth leaders to organize regional energy events, lead policy consultations, and contribute evidence-based recommendations to global climate processes.

Impact: Strengthens youth leadership, energy literacy, workforce development, and participation in energy transition policymaking, contributing to SDGs 4, 7, 8, 10, and 13.

Revenue Model: Donations, grants, prizes, sponsorships, and future climate and social-value funding partnerships.

Expenses: Training development, digital learning platforms, facilitator support, workshop delivery, outreach activities, and programme coordination.

Challenges: Securing sustainable funding, bridging technical energy knowledge with climate advocacy, and creating accessible knowledge-sharing platforms across regions.

Vision: To develop a global certified youth energy leadership programme that trains young leaders in just transition principles, establishes regional facilitator hubs, and integrates youth-led energy literacy into international climate and workforce development frameworks.
