Hackers por Nuestro Futuro is a youth-led movement operating across Latin America that empowers young people to accelerate a just and inclusive energy transition through innovation, policy advocacy, and leadership development. Operating for 3-5 years and currently in the growth stage, the initiative builds the capacity of young leaders to design solutions to energy and climate challenges while strengthening their participation in decision-making processes.

Through programmes such as the Hackatón por Nuestro Futuro, climate leadership bootcamps, and university and regional chapters, the movement provides training on climate governance, energy justice, renewable energy, and solution design. Participants collaborate to develop projects, policy proposals, and community-led initiatives that address energy access, clean energy adoption, and climate resilience challenges across the region.

Impact: Strengthens youth leadership, policy engagement, climate innovation, and renewable energy advocacy across Latin America, contributing to SDGs 7, 8, 13, 16, and 17.

Revenue Model: Grants, donations, prizes, institutional partnerships, event sponsorships, and in-kind support from partner organizations.

Expenses: Programme implementation, hackathons, leadership training, educational materials, communications, digital platforms, community engagement activities, and operational coordination.

Challenges: Securing long-term funding, connecting youth-generated solutions with policymakers and institutions, and scaling engagement across multiple countries and regions.

Vision: To build one of Latin America’s leading youth ecosystems for energy transition and climate innovation by expanding youth chapters, strengthening leadership programmes, supporting youth-led renewable energy solutions, and increasing youth representation in energy and climate decision-making processes.
