BK Solar Energy is an early-stage renewable energy company under BK Consolidated Company Limited, specializing in solar system supply, design, installation, maintenance, training, battery services, and e-waste trading. The project delivers reliable, affordable, and sustainable solar energy solutions with high standards of quality and safety across Borno State, Nigeria.
Currently in operation for less than 12 months with a core team of 6–10 members, the company serves individuals, private organizations, and government agencies through a revenue model combining direct sales and service fees.
Expenses: Installation equipment, transportation, staff allowances, training materials, logistics, and administrative costs—currently funded through personal savings, family contributions, and reinvested income from small projects.
Challenges: Limited access to funding, difficulty securing technical and financial partnerships, low community awareness about quality installations, and client preference for cheap systems over long-term performance and safety.
Vision: To become a leading renewable energy company in Northern Nigeria and eventually across Africa. Long-term plans include expanding from residential and small commercial systems to large-scale industrial projects, providing solar-powered irrigation for thousands of farmers, and supporting climate-smart agriculture.
Inspired by the founder’s experience as a certified solar technology expert and firsthand observation of energy challenges and untrained installers in Borno State, BK Solar Energy aims to build local technical capacity while contributing to SDG 7 and a net-zero future. Through quality service delivery, community engagement, and strategic partnerships, the project seeks to create a clean, energy-secure, and food-secure future for Nigeria.
