Aron Charter is a community-focused initiative working toward a world where women and men thrive in a healthy, equitable environment—free from poverty and the impacts of climate change and environmental degradation. The project operates in Gambia, supporting vulnerable communities through women’s garden programs, mangrove restoration, and climate education for orphans and remote schools.
Currently in its growth stage (3–5 years of operation), the project involves over 100 members and is funded through donations, prizes, and grants. The founder, a first-class graduate from Egerton University, personally contributes a monthly salary from part-time work to support the initiative.
Expenses: Seedlings for women’s gardens, mangroves for rainy season activities, and learning materials for orphans in remote schools.
Challenges: Limited financial support and lack of equipment.
Vision & Long-Term Plan: To impact lives across The Gambia by expanding support to women’s gardens nationwide. Short-term goals include reaching 100 schools within three months to educate students on climate change impacts.
Inspired by the founder’s deep commitment to serving others, Aron Charter is driven by compassion, selflessness, and a clear vision for community empowerment. The project focuses on authentic, purpose-driven leadership to build resilience, promote environmental sustainability, and improve livelihoods for women, children, and vulnerable populations—contributing to climate action and poverty reduction at the grassroots level. Scaling requires sustained funding and strategic partnerships to expand reach and deepen impact.
