ENERGIZED app

Project Summary

This project focuses on energy transition, sustainable tourism, and behavioral incentives by rewarding tourists for adopting energy-efficient and environmentally friendly actions. Through the "Energized" app, visitors are encouraged to use renewable energy transport, stay in certified green accommodations, and engage in eco-conscious activities. By promoting sustainability in tourism, the initiative drives demand for renewable energy, influences policy development, and fosters economic opportunities in the green sector.

Project Description

This is an app idea that accelerates the energy transition and promotes sustainable tourism. With the creation of the app “Energized”, tourists around the world can find a display of rewards in the destination they are visiting, as the city of Copenhagen is currently testing, with the condition that they perform sustainable and energy-efficient actions during their stay. Some examples include riding transport that uses renewable energy (local buses, trains, bikes), partaking in walking tours, participating in an energy awareness campaign, staying at accommodations with sustainability certifications, attending workshops or tours of renewable energy facilities, eating at restaurants with energy-efficient lighting and cooking, among others.

The main goals of this system is to create a new form of tourism based on promoting the utilization of renewable energies in cities and smaller nuclei, reducing the carbon footprint derived from tourism, supporting local economies and sustainability efforts, and awakening environmental stewardship and accountability. All in all, it will incentivize the energy transition in businesses and local councils due to the consumers’ increasing demand, influence green policy making and the expansion of renewable energies investment, and establish new green jobs in the innovation and tourism sector.
