Telios Intelligence addresses the lack of reliable operational and performance data for mini-grids and solar systems. While these technologies can significantly improve electricity access in underserved communities, developers struggle to scale because monitoring is fragmented, reporting is manual, and investors lack the data needed to assess project performance and investment risk. The company’s digital platform provides real-time monitoring, performance analytics and standardized reporting for renewable energy assets. By centralizing operational data and generating investor-ready reports, the platform helps developers improve system reliability, reduce downtime and demonstrate measurable environmental and operational impact. This increases operational efficiency, strengthens investor confidence and improves access to finance. Although Telios has been operating for less than a year with 2-5 employees, they have already raised a pre-seed investment from Antler and are onboarding 5 MW of renewable energy projects.
Major costs include software and platform development, cloud infrastructure, technical staff, data management, maintenance and research and development. Current funding comes from pre-seed equity, internal resources and strategic partnerships. A big challenge is collecting reliable data from remote energy systems with poor connectivity. The company is developing a low-cost hardware solution that can transmit data over low-bandwidth networks to improve data quality and system coverage. The long-term vision is to become the digital infrastructure backbone for decentralized renewable energy across Africa, enabling developers to scale projects faster, attract investment and expand reliable electricity access in underserved communities.
